Good afternoon,

Upon review of the PHRF ratings for the FRN Summer races, it came to our attention that certain classes of boats are classified as "No non-spin" in the NCPHRF ratings.  As set out in the NCPHRF ratings, part 1 RULES AND GUIDELINES,  section X

5. Boats that should not be included in non-spinnaker classes are identified in the NCPHRF Base Rating Report with the notation "No Non-Spin" designation.

Knarr boats fall into this category.

Per the race documents, NCPHRF ratings are used as the underlying handicapping system for the Friday Night Summer races.  The Race Committee will need to reassign the Knarr boats from the non-spin2 fleet to PHRF 2.  Alternately, using a Bird boat as a guideline, the NCPHRF ratings provide for a rating adjustment of 24 to accommodate a non-spinnaker fleet handicap.

Please advise of your preference of a rating adjustment or fleet reassignment.
